Women Build partnerships -- Habitat for Humanity Int'l 1
Women Build partnerships
Women Build’s underwriter and major sponsors
The Women Build program, underwritten by Lowe’s, brings women from all walks of life together to learn construction skills and then use those skills to be part of the solution to poverty housing. Lowe’s, is a vital partner in Habitat’s work, with contributions approaching $20 million in support. Since 1996, through grant programs, project funding, how-to clinics and underwriting our Women build program, this partnership has been helping Habitat affiliates build houses, train volunteers, and provide hope for partner families in every state in the country.

Stone Soup cartoonist Jan Eliot has become a favorite of Habitat for Humanity International’s Women Build department. In March 2004, Stone Soup readers followed Holly and Alix as they visited Aunt Margie in California for spring break. Expecting to spend the week on the beach, boy-crazed Holly was not happy to find out that Aunt Margie had made plans for the sisters to volunteer on a Habitat for Humanity construction site helping a family build a much needed new home! Now readers can follow Gramma while she’s off to Africa to build a home for another family in need
